KNOCKING DETERMINING DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine whether knocking is generated. SOLUTION: An engine ECU executes a program including steps of: (S120) calculating a correlation coefficient K by comparing a knock waveform model with a vibration waveform of an engine detected on the basis of an integral value of integrating an output voltage value of a knock sensor; (S122) calculating knock strength N by dividing the product of the calculated correlation coefficient K and a maximum value P of the integral value in the detected vibration waveform by BGL set so as to become large as an engine speed of the engine becomes high; (S126) determining that the knocking is generated when the knock strength N is larger than a determining value (YES in S124); and (S130) determining that the knocking is not generated when the knock strength N is not larger than the determining value (NO in S124).
