A device for receiving and pulling long-length material has a storage drum (2) in which the long-length material is arranged and the drum is completely enclosed in a housing (7,8).The long-length material has one, preferably two, power conductors, each joined to a first power consumer or first power rail arranged on one surface of the storage drum (2) and each stands in sliding contact with a second power consumer or second power rail.
