<p>A servo drive for a sliding door in a vehicle has a rack and pinion powered by a single electric motor with two concentric pinions of different diameter. The rack has two sections; one straight section engaged by the larger diameter pinion, for a rapid drive with fixed resistance, and one short bent section engaged by the smaller pinion, to move the door between the open and fully closed positions. The smaller pinion drives the door with a larger reduction gear ratio. No additional drive systems are required.</p> |
