PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive a command from a remote controller surely. SOLUTION: A remote control receiving section 31 receives a command transmitted from a remote controller, and a direction information acquiring section 112 acquires information indicative of its own direction. A direction information adding section 115 adds the thus acquired direction information to a received command, and a communication section 62 transmits a command added with the direction information to a slave unit. Upon receiving the command added with the direction information, the slave unit determines whether its own direction is identical to the direction indicated by the direction information added to the command or not. If it is identical, predetermined processing is performed and the command from the remote controller can be received surely. The invention is applicable to a display system.
