<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion measuring probe, especially a drop-in type measuring probe, having a simple structure and functional reliability. <P>SOLUTION: A sensor carrier 4 arranged in the longitudinal direction perforation 3 of a measuring head 1 has a ring 9 made of molding sand. During penetrating a slug layer on the upper part of a molten metal, or when immersed into the molten metal, the measuring head 1 is suddenly heated to the molten metal temperature. Hereby, the volume of gas in holes in the molding sand is suddenly increased, and the gas is discharged rapidly from the ring 9, to thereby actually strip off slug adhering to the sensor carrier 4 or a protection cap 7. Consequently, an influence of the slug at a position near the sensor is removed, and measurement accuracy is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
