PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform cleaning processing by an appropriate number of times in accordance with the type of a recording medium. SOLUTION: An inkjet recording system 100 is equipped with recording heads 31a-31d for delivering an ink toward a recording medium K, a cleaning part 4 for performing the cleaning processing of the recording heads 31a-31d, a controlling part 7 for controlling the cleaning part 4 or the like, a delivering defect detecting part 60 for detecting defect of delivering of the recording heads 31a-31d, and a storing part 70 for storing the number of allowance of ink delivering openings generating the defects of delivering in accordance with the type of the recording medium K. The controlling part 7 makes the cleaning part to perform the cleaning processing when the number of allowance corresponding to the recording medium K of the type to be recorded exceeds.
