PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chloroprene-based polymer for vulcanized rubber, having excellent durability especially balance of abrasion resistance and resistance to flex fatigue. SOLUTION: When producing a chloroprene-based polymer for the vulcanized rubber, the polymerization is carried out by using a xanthogenic chain transfer agent, and 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene within the range of 2-18 mass% as a comonomer at 100-135 polymer viscosity range (ML<SB>1+4</SB>(100°C)) within the polymerization temperature range of 30-48°C so as to achieve 55-70% polymerization conversion. The obtained polymer can be used in an application requiring high-degree durability such as the one for an expansion joint, a damping material or the like used for public construction application such as a viaduct, an expressway and a bridge.
