PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device which has a long life, prevents humidity increase and dew condensation in a base, and is high in reliability. SOLUTION: The disk device is a cooling means having; a driving mechanism which supports and rotationally drives a disk medium accommodated in the base; a head for reproducing information from the disk medium; a carriage assembly which supports the head movably to the disk medium; a circuit board which manages the control of rotation of the disk medium, the control of recording and reproduction by the head, the control of drive of the carriage assembly and an interface to external devices; and a cooling part to cool a narrow part which is the only part that permits a gas to flow into and out of the device inside, surrounded by a cover body and the base. In this case, the wettability in the inner part of the base is different from that in the outer part acroos the cooling part, and the wettability outside the base is larger than the wettability inside the base.
