PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device which displays intermediates continuous brightness levels. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device includes a plurality of pixels, an electrophoresis layer including electrophoretic particles which migrates when applied with an electric field, and a common electrode which is provided opposite the plurality of pixels to hold the electrophoresis layer with the pixels. Each pixel is composed of a plurality of sub-pixels, which contain at least one pair of sub-pixels incapable being divided by a straight line.
