PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of reliably avoiding any damage of the device by a staple remaining on a paper sheet, and reusing the paper sheet without degrading the working efficiency. SOLUTION: A staple (a metal piece) stuck to a paper sheet is detected by a conduction sensor 25 (a metal piece detection means). The position of the staple on the paper sheet (staple paper sheet) is specified based on metal piece detection information by the conduction sensor 25, and a punch hole is opened by a punch unit 26 (a punching means) at a part of the paper sheet with the staple being stuck thereon based on position specifying information by a staple position specifying unit.
