PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book with an IC tag which has a built-in non-contact IC tag and does not generate a communication hindrance to the exchange of message data with a reader/writer, even in case the book has a metal vapor deposition layer formed on a face cover or a back cover. SOLUTION: This book 1 with a non-contact IC tag has a pictorial pattern including the metal vapor deposition layer 4 on the face cover 11, the back cover, a jacket or a filing sheet, and further, has a non-contact IC tag 2 built in the book. In addition, the metal vapor deposition layer 4 is of a sea/island structure so that the vapor deposition surface has insulating properties, and the metal vapor deposition layer 4 of this sea/island structure may be directly vapor-deposited to a paper base material or the vapor deposition layer 4 of the sea/island structure may be formed on a transfer film and then transferred to the paper base material. The sea/island structure of the metal vapor deposition layer 4 is preferably such that the island size is 20 nm to 1μm and the interval between the islands is 10 nm to 500 nm.
