PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove nitrite ions in nitrite based anticorrosive-containing waste water by decomposing the same, so as to be reduced into gaseous nitrogen, and to obtain treated water in which not only nitrite ions do not remain but also total nitrogen does not remain, and which can cope with nitrogen regulation and COD regulation. SOLUTION: To nitrite based anticorrosive-containing waste water, sulphamic acid is added by an amount of 0.8 to 1.2 times the reaction equivalent to the concentration of nitrite ions in the waste water, and further, acid which does not contain nitrogen is added by an amount with which the pH of the waste water reaches≤2, so as to decompose away the nitrite ions in the waste water.
