PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately position a distal end portion of a dust collection hood communicating with a dust collector via a duct with respect to a local portion requiring dust collection. SOLUTION: A telescopic dust collection hood apparatus is provided with: a cylindrical fixed hood 1 which is fixedly arranged to the distal end of the duct, communicates with the duct and horizontally extends; a cylindrical movable hood 2 which is mounted to the fixed hood 1 so as to be horizontally reciprocatable, enters and comes out of the fixed hood 1 and has an opened distal end end face or an opened lower face of the distal end end part; a roller chain 3 mounted to a central part of the lower face of the movable hood 2 while extending to the moving direction of the movable hood 2; a rotary shaft 5 extended orthogonally crossing the roller chain 3 and rotatably mounted on the fixed hood 1; an electric motor 6 having a speed reducer, the motor 6 being mounted on the outer face of the fixed hood 1 and having the output shaft connected to the rotary shaft 5; and a chain wheel 7 fitted to the rotary shaft 5 and meshed with the roller chain 3.
