PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game system and a server which can secure the safety especially when a card is carelessly left in a card unit concerning a game system comprising game machines used in a game parlor or the like, the card unit for updating the memory content of the card where available value information is stored and the server for managing the game machines and the card unit. SOLUTION: When a player leaves a slot machine 1 with an IC card left inserted in the card unit 50, the server 80 transmits an emergency stop signal to the slot machine 1 and the card unit 50 based on the reception state of a player detection signal and a card insertion signal. When the emergency stop signal is received, the slot machine 1 executes a game emergency stop processing (S10) for disabling the game in the slot machine 1.
