A status switching method comprises the step of receiving a status switching instruction signal to instruct the status switching of its own terminal to at least one of plural statuses, the step of deciding it on the basis of the user setting stored in the memory of its own terminal whether or not the status of its own terminal is switched to the status instructed by the status switching instruction signal, and the step of making a control to switch the status of its own terminal to the status instructed by the status switching instruction signal, in case the deciding step has decided that the status of its own terminal is switched to the status instructed by the status switching instruction signal.
