To provide a silver-based inorganic antibacterial agent which is excellent in heat resistance and chemical resistance, and is reduced in the resin-discolorating property and is excellent in processability. A zirconium phosphate containing a silver ion represented by the following formula [1]: Ag<SUB>a</SUB>M<SUB>b</SUB>Zr<SUB>c</SUB>(PO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>3</SUB>?nH<SUB>2</SUB>O [1] (wherein M is at least one ion selected from an alkali metal ion, a hydrogen ion and an ammonium ion, and a, b and c are positive numbers and satisfy 1.5 < c < 2 and a + b + 4c = 9, and n is 2 or less), which is prepared by the wet synthesis under specific conditions, has been found to satisfy the above requirements.
