<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic waste water treatment method and its apparatus enabling especially high load operation by improving a two-phase activated sludge process. <P>SOLUTION: In the organic waste water treatment method using a two-phase activated sludge process using a first treatment tank oxidatively decomposing organic contaminants in the substantial absence of a protozoan to convert them into non-agglutinating bacteria, and a second treatment tank for treating the waste water from the first treatment tank with sessile protozoans, which prey on the non-agglutinating bacteria to remove them, at least aeration for bacteria treatment in the first treatment tank is carried out with oxygen gas, and the water quality of at least the first treatment tank is measured with time. When water quality change deteriorating the bacteria treatment is detected, at least introduction of water to be treated into the first treatment tank is temporarily stopped, and aeration in the first treatment tank with oxygen is carried out after adding seed sludge or a microbial preparation. Subsequently the introduction of the water to be treated into the first treatment tank is restarted.
