PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to recognize whether or not the distribution status of the level of a composite image obtained by performing exposure twice for widening a dynamic range is proper. SOLUTION: Low sensitivity image data and high sensitivity image data are compounded by a ratio to be determined by a dynamic range. A composite image 131 is displayed on a display screen 90. A histogram 132 of the composite image is generated, and displayed on the display screen 90. A user depresses range change button 101 by considering that it is necessary to change the dynamic range of the composite image when viewing the histogram 132 and the composite image 131. Then, the dynamic range is changed so that a composite image compounded by a rate to be determined by the changed dynamic range can be obtained.
