PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame rate conversion technology for properly capable of satisfying both the smoothed motion of an output image and an uncomplicated means for generating an interpolation frame. SOLUTION: The frame rate conversion apparatus includes: a generating means that detects a motion vector on the basis of first and second consecutive frames among a plurality of frames received at an input frame rate, corrects the magnitude of the motion vector on the basis of a correction coefficient; and generates an interpolation frame on the basis of the motion vector after the correction and the first and second frames; and an output means that outputs at least one of the received frames and the generated interpolation frame at an output frame rate.
