PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a power off residual image, to realize a white display mode by the same circuit and to realize low power consumption in the white display mode in a display device. SOLUTION: The display device 1 has a plurality of scanning lines 21 and a plurality of signal lines 22 provided by crossing them with each other, a scanning line drive circuit 13 which drives the plurality of scanning lines 21 in block according to shutdown for driving the plurality of scanning lines 21, respectively and turning power off or the white display mode for performing white display and a supply circuit 15 which supplies opposite electrode voltage of an opposite electrode to the plurality of signal lines 22 according to the shutdown or the white display mode.
