PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing a solid in a furnace capable of releasing a worker from bad working environment and heavy work, and capable of improving working efficiency. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a caterpillar drive type traveling truck 15 arranged outside the furnace, a vertical frame 16 attached on a front side of the traveling truck 15 tiltably in the longitudinal direction, a horizontal expandable arm 17 turnably attached on an end of the vertical frame 16 and tilting in the vertical direction and expandable, an auxiliary arm 18 having a base part attached on an end of the horizontal expandable arm 17 and turnable in the horizontal direction and tiltable in the vertical direction and expandable while having the end of the horizontal expandable arm 17 as a reference, and an excavating drill 14 with an elevating means provided on an end of the auxiliary arm 18 so as to be turnable in the vertical direction while having a horizontal shaft 19 as a reference. When the auxiliary arm 18 and the excavating drill 14 are held in the horizontal state, a dimension of an apparatus provided on the front side of the horizontal expandable arm 17 is smaller than an inside dimension D of an inspection hole 12.
