PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain cover having excellent weather resistance and capable of being attached and detached easily and to provide a chain with the chain cover capable of fitting chain covers easily attachable and detachable to/from almost all the outer links and preventing all the chain covers from being removed from the chain by merely fitting a chain cover for preventing removal in one remaining outer link. SOLUTION: This chain cover 11 is formed by a metallic horizontal base 12 and a pair of vertical bases 13 so as to have one-end opened square shape cross section, and a pair of reverse L-shaped cut-out parts 16 composed of a vertical cut-out part 14 and a horizontal cut-out part 15 in which an end part 9a of a connection pin can be fitted are formed in the vertical base 13. In this chain cover 11, the end part 9a of the connection pin is fitted into the outer link 7 from above so as to get in the vertical cut-out part 14, then is moved in the horizontal direction, is fitted into the horizontal cut-out part 15, and the chain cover is fitted to the outer link 7.
