PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator of a valve lift controller preventing the actuator from being defectively operated. SOLUTION: In the valve lift controller controlling a valve lift amount, the actuator changing the valve lift amount according to the axial position of a control shaft by linearly driving the control shaft comprises a feed screw mechanism 21 having a screw shaft 41 linearly moving together with the control shaft in the axial direction and a rotating shaft 40 rotatingly moving in the circumferential direction and converting the rotating motion of the rotating shaft 40 into the linear motion of the screw shaft 41, a projected part 87 projecting from the rotating shaft 40 to the outer peripheral side, a female screw member 81 threaded with the outer peripheral wall of the rotating shaft, a motor stator 82 generating a magnetic filed by energization, and a motor rotor 80 fitted to the rotating shaft 40 held between the projected part 87 and the female screw member 81 in the axial direction, and rotating together with the rotating shaft 40 by receiving the generated magnetic field from the motor stator 82.
