PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a forged material for rotating body having high mechanical characteristic and little variance. SOLUTION: The method for producing the forged material for rotating body, includes an extruding process for producing an extruded billet from an aluminum alloy and a forging process for producing the forged material for rotating body by die-forging the extruded billet at 200-400°C die-forging temperature. The size of the extruded billet and the shape of the die used for the die-forging are beforehand decided so that the rotating body produced by applying a prescribed machining to the forged material for rotating body is set in a range becoming≥0.2 equivalent strain quantity in the whole range of the rotating body after machining by analyzing the equivalent strain at the forging time of the forging material for rotating body. Then in the extruding process, the extruded billet having the above size is produced and also, in the forging process, the die-forging is performed with the above die shape.
