A method and apparatus is disclosed for forming a moulding. A material ( 23 ) comprising magnetic particles is injected into a mould ( 10 ) and a magnetic field is applied to at least a portion of the material ( 23 ') comprising magnetic particles so as to change the orientation and/or distribution the magnetic particles in the moulding material ( 23 ). One or more further materials ( 24 ) may be injected into the mould ( 10 ) to form a multi-layered moulding. The further materials ( 24 ) may comprise magnetic particles.
