CATALYST FOR REMOVING NOx IN EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel heat resisting carried catalyst capable of efficiently removing NOx in diesel exhaust gas which is conventionally difficult to remove, and to provide a monolithic catalyst coated with the catalyst.

SOLUTION: The heat resistant NOx removing catalyst for exhaust gas is made by carrying a primary catalyst containing platinum having a mean particle size of 0.3-20 nm on a hardly soluble carrier having a pore diameter of 0.3-50 nm and a specific surface area of 100-1,400 m2/g to form a carried catalyst and coating the carried catalyst with a high melting point material with a melting point of 1,000 °C or higher in a thickness of 0.3 nm-10 μm in the atmosphere.
