PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of starting the transmission of image data in a document by a simple operation after talking with the user of an opposite apparatus in a communication apparatus for transmitting/receiving image data, sound data, etc. through an IP network. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus 1 transmits "INVITE" for voice speech to an opposite party to establish a session for the voice speech, and when a start key 10b is depressed in the established state of the session, "INVITE" for image data communication is transmitted to the same opposite party to establish a session for image data communication and image data are transmitted in the established session.
