PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of preventing contents from being illegally used by malicious users and enhancing the convenience of users for viewing the contents. SOLUTION: A server apparatus includes: a means for generating encryption data of contents; a means for sharing a combination of a content encryption key, user identification information Ip, and content identification information Ic by a particular sharing function to produce a plurality of share data (W1, W2, W3); a means for transmitting the share data W2, W3to a terminal as license information; and a means for transmitting distribution data resulting from multiplexing the information Ic, the encryption data, and the share data W1to the terminal. The terminal includes: a means for demultiplexing the information Ic, the encryption data, and the share data W1from the distributed data; a means for acquiring the information Ic from the license information; a means for collecting the data W1, W2, W3associated with the same information Ic and using a particular decryption function to decrypt the encryption key; and a means for decrypting the content encryption data by using the decrypted encryption key.
