PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner which suppresses release and burying of titanium oxide, has a high polishing effect on a photoreceptor surface, and can stably obtain good images over a prolonged period of time. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner is obtained by externally adding at least titanium oxide as an external additive to toner particles containing at least a binder resin, wax, a charge control agent and a pigment, wherein the titanium oxide has an aspect ratio of 2-5 and a Mohs hardness of≥6.
