PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device 60 into which moisture is incapable of infiltrating. SOLUTION: In relation to a manufacturing method of the liquid crystal device 60 which has a first sealing material 19, arranged on the peripheral portion between a pair of substrates 10, 20 and a liquid crystal layer 50 sealed in the center part of the portion, a second sealing material 80, composed of a water-hardening material is arranged on the outside of the first sealing material 19 on surfaces of inorganic alignment layers 16, 22 formed on the substrates 10, 20.
