PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly functional, solid natural rubber which is excellent in processability, productivity, mechanical strength, low heat-buildup and wear resistance, and a rubber composition containing the same. SOLUTION: In the protein-degraded natural rubber, the degree of degradation of proteins contained in the natural rubber is 50-100%, and the nitrogen content is >0.3 wt.% and≤0.6 wt.%. Alternatively, in the protein-degraded natural rubber, the degree of degradation of proteins contained in the natural rubber is 50-98%, and the nitrogen content is 0.02-0.3 wt.%.
