A horizontal drain system especially for a flat roof, or for draining rainwater from insulating layers has a shallow profile collecting trough (1) with a circular cover with screw fasteners (4) to grip onto roofing layers. The shallow trough runs into a connecting profile for drainage ducts (2). The collecting trough can also be fitted with flat or raised grids.
