PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system and method, and a program, capable of imagining easily a facility name and a point name in an item, and capable of providing genre retrieval easy to be used intuitively. SOLUTION: A retrieval history of an item name, the facility name or the point name selected by a genre retrieval execution part 44 is held in an SRAM 7. A retrieval history acquiring part 45 is a portion for acquiring the retrieval history from the SRAM 7. A retrieval history display part 46 is a portion for displaying one corresponding to the retrieval history acquired by the retrieval history acquiring part 45, out of a sub-item name, the facility name or the point name included in the item, in association with the item name displayed on a genre display part 47.
