PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device and an ejection abnormality detection method which realize preferable pressure detection in which variation that pressure sensors have is taken into consideration. SOLUTION: The liquid ejection device according to this invention switches a switch 130 to a threshold value reference value 132 side upon non-printing operations, switches a switch 134 to an A/D converter 120 side, generates a pressure waveform not including bubbles from pressure chambers 52, and senses the pressure by pressure chambers 59 attached to the pressure chambers 52. Minute signals corresponding to the capacitance of the pressure sensors 59 are amplified by a charge amplifier 108. When peak values are detected by a peak detection circuit 110, errors due to variation in the capacitance of the pressure sensors 59 are extracted from the peak values. Based on the extracted errors, a threshold value for determining pressure abnormality of the pressure chambers 52 is set and stored in a memory 122. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
