PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in a diversity reception provided with a plurality of antennas and tuner parts. SOLUTION: This receiver is provided with: a BER (Bit Error Rate) determining device 109 to which a BER output from an error correcting part 108 is connected and which compares the BER with a preset threshold to output a determination signal; and a diversity control part 110 to which a determination signal outputted from the BER determining device 109 is inputted. The diversity control part 110 performs diversity reception by feeding the power to the tuner parts 103 and 104 when the BER is larger than the threshold in the BER determining device 109 and single reception by stopping the power feeding of one tuner part between the tuner parts 103 and 104 when the BER is smaller than the threshold. Since this configuration can stop the power feeding of one tuner part when a receiving environment is satisfactory, low power consumption can be realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
