PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and light booster device by enabling a capacitor whose breakdown voltage is lower than the booster voltage to be used. SOLUTION: The anode of a diode 7 is connected to one end of a coil 6 connected to a positive side of a DC power supply 19 (battery 1), a switching element (transistor 8) is connected between a connection point and the negative side of the DC power supply 19, and the capacitor 9 is connected between the positive side of the DC power supply 19 and the cathode of the diode 7. By this configuration, voltage applied to the capacitor 9 results in subtraction of the voltage of the DC power supply 19 from the booster voltage, thus enabling the capacitor 9 whose breakdown voltage is lower than the booster voltage to be used, and hence obtaining the compact and light-weight booster device.
