PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device capable of avoiding the deterioration of receiving performance even if a delay time of a multipath wave exceeds the length of a guard interval. SOLUTION: The receiving device comprises a filter circuit which carries out the band restriction of a transmission path estimation signal used for estimating characteristics of the transmission path, using a plurality of filter coefficients 7a having bandwidths wider than a guard interval contained in a transmission signal transmitted through the transmission path; an equalizing circuit 8a which equalizes the transmission signal using the band-restricted transmission path estimation signal; and a decision circuit 9a which detects the signal quality of the equalized transmission signal, and decides an optimal filter coefficient from among the plurality of filter coefficients according to the result of the detection.
