PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the collapse of a building, by enhancing deformation restoring force of the building to the instantaneously repulsive vertical movement or lateral swinging acting on the building in initial motion of the earthquake occurrence. SOLUTION: This base isolation device 1 is respectively installed in respective corner parts of a building structural frame 6 composed of a through-column 2, a pipe column 3, a horizontal member 4 and a sill 5. The base isolation device 1 is composed of a bracket 8 installed on the through-column 2 or the pipe column 3, a base isolation mechanism 9 installed on the horizontal member 4 or the sill 5, and a batter brace material 10 for connecting the bracket 8 and the base isolation mechanism 9.
