PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device provided with an alignment mechanism capable of responding to various sheet sizes without increasing size and cost of the device, and an image forming device. SOLUTION: The sheet processing device is provided with a travel range restriction means for restricting a travel range of an alignment member 1f such that a travel distance of the alignment member 1f on a reference side becomes shorter than a travel distance of an alignment member 1r on an alignment side. The travel range restriction means is provided with abutment parts 11a, 11b provided on a frame 11; and an expansion/contraction means (second rail member 18, first spring 19 and second spring 20) for making a belt 12 travel relative to the alignment member 1f when the travel of the alignment member 1f is restricted by the abutment parts 11a, 11b.
