PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking mechanism for a vehicle such as a dolly capable of preventing a wire used therein from severing. SOLUTION: The braking mechanism is structured so that a pair of brake shoes 31 rotatable and able to abut to the front and rear of a fixed rear wheel are installed on a base table mounted on a plate etc. and wire pins 41a and 41b are mounted at the ends of the brake shoes, followed by coupling with a wire 40 covered with a wire guide in the condition that a spring 20 is inserted between these wire pins 41a and 41b, and that a resilient piece 200 is inserted between the wire pin 41a and the end of the wire guide 201.
