<p>In an elevator apparatus, a cylindrical statormountingportion is provided to a housing. In the housing, a main shaft is provided so as to be located at the center of the stator mounting portion. A drive sheave is rotatable about the main shaft. A motor stator is mounted onto an outer peripheral portion of the stator mounting portion.
