Provided is an acrylic suspension polymer, which has high heat resistance and light transmission, shows excellent thermal stability during processing, and is useful for various industrial fields, particularly as an optical material. The acrylic suspension polymer is obtained via suspension polymerization of 100 parts by weight of methyl methacrylate monomer or a monomer mixture containing 80-99.9 wt% of methyl methacrylate and 0.1-20 wt% of a comonomer, in the presence of 0.01-1 parts by weight of an initiator, 0.01-1.0 parts by weight of a chain transfer agent and 0.01-2.0 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent. The acrylic suspension polymer has an initial thermal decomposition temperature of 375 deg.C or higher, a number average molecular weight of 90,000 or higher, and a light transmission of at least 89%.
