SULFUR ELECTRODE FOR RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM/SULFUR BATTERY WITH VAPOR GROWN CARBON FIBERS

Provided is a sulfur electrode for a lithium/sulfur secondary battery, which solves the problems caused by the agglomeration of sulfur and acetylene black, and improves cycle characteristics of a lithium/sulfur secondary battery. The sulfur electrode for a lithium/sulfur secondary battery comprises vapor grown carbon fibers(VGCF) as an additive for a conventional conductive agent. The vapor grown carbon fibers are added in an amount of 2.5-12.5 wt% based on the total weight of the electrode comprising sulfur as an active material, a binder(PEO) and a conductive agent(acetylene black). The sulfur electrode is obtained by an ultrasonic wave dispersion step, a magnetic stirring step and an attrition ball milling step.
