The present invention discloses a carbon monoxide sensor comprising
a housing having a to-be-analyzed-gas inlet fitted with a filter for removal of nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides, and
a detection element provided in the housing, which comprises a P type metal oxide semiconductor composed mainly of copper oxide,
wherein the filter is made of an inorganic material. The inorganic material constituting the filter is preferably a zeolite having a component ratio SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 (mole basis) of 5 to 510.
