A fall arrestor (10) suitable for attachment to a saddle. The fall arrestor (10) is held by a rider of a horse or the like and allows the rider to control and mitigate the danger when unseated from a horse. A webbing (30) is configured in a Y-shape so that it can be connected to stirrup bars (62) on opposite sides of a saddle (60) which take the load of a fall. The device also includes sacrificial links (42) and a rubber shock absorber (20) to further control the fall.
