An AV(Audio Visual) system having an address book function and a car account book function and a control method thereof are provided to prevent the loss or damage of a written address book and car account book by allowing a user to write an address book and a car account book through a graphic interface device. A ROM(20) stores interface graphic images of an address book and a car account book. An expansion memory(80) stores data of the address book and the car account book. A touch screen module(50) displays the interface graphic images of the address book and the car account book having a plurality of buttons for editing the data of the address book and the car account book. The touch screen module(50) displays the data of the address book on the interface graphic image of the address book, and displays the data of the car account book on the interface graphic image of the car account book, and provides a graphic interface device with a user. An MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) controller(40) processes interface graphic data of the address book and the car account book, and displays the processed data on the touch screen module(50). An interface unit(60) interfaces the data of the address book and the car account book with the expansion memory(80) under certain control. A microcomputer(10) edits the data of the address book and the car account book through the graphic interface device of the touch screen module(50), and stores the edited data of the address book and the car account book in the expansion memory(80).
