A mask device for a flat display device and a method of fixing a mask using the same are provided to reduce manufacturing cost by increasing the number of usages of the mask frame by removing the mask from the mask frame without polishing an upper surface of the mask frame. A mask device for a flat display device includes a mask(160) and a mask frame(170). The mask is stretched in a predetermined direction. The mask frame has a rectangular frame-like structure. The stretched mask is fixed on and supported by the mask frame. The mask frame has a slant surface outside an overlapped region between the mask frame and the mask. The mask is welded on the slant surface of the mask frame. When the mask is removed from the mask frame, a welding mark remaining on the mask frame is removed by a polishing process.
