A driving method of a liquid crystal display device is provided to complement an image of a first sub frame by displaying the desired color by irradiating the white light to red, green, and blue sub pixels in the first sub frame and displaying the same color as the first sub frame in a second sub frame by irradiating the light to a white sub pixel from red, green, and blue light emitting diodes. A driving method of a liquid crystal display device having red, green, blue, and white sub pixels(PRnm,PGnm,PBnm,PWnm) includes the steps of: displaying an image corresponding to red, green, and blue data on the red, green, and blue sub pixels during a first sub frame by irradiating the light from a white light emitting diode and complementing an image of the first sub frame by irradiating the light from the red, green, or blue light emitting diode and applying white data to the white sub pixel during a second sub frame following the first sub frame.
