METHOD FOR SELECTING DISCHARGE HOLES OF AN ORBITING VANE COMPRESSOR

A method for selecting a discharge port of an orbiting vane compressor is provided to improve performance of the compressor by decreasing the dead volume and enlarging the discharge area owing to selecting the position of the discharge port and preventing excessive compression with selecting the size of the discharge port. An outer discharge port(54) is selected in contacting a side of a slider(S) to an end of the outer discharge port while the slider is moved into the discharge ports. An inner discharge port(55) is selected in contacting the side of the slider to the end of the inner discharge port in finishing discharging compressed gas through the inner discharge port while the slider is moved far from the discharge ports. The slider is inserted to an annular space(51) of a cylinder(5) and reciprocated by an orbiting vane(4). The position of the inner discharge port or the outer discharge port is selected to restrict the slider from covering the discharge ports. The discharge area of compressed gas is enlarged by decreasing dead volume in the annular space with the side of the slider and the end of the orbiting vane.
