A mobile terminal having a radio reception function and its control method are provided to reduce user's inconvenience caused by noise when a user listens to a radio broadcast and prevent unnecessary power consumption of a battery. A radio module(15) receives a radio broadcast signal, processes it so as to be an audible signal, and outputs a voltage value corresponding to a reception strength of the radio broadcast signal. A receiver amplifier(26) amplifies the radio broadcast signal and outputs it to an audio output device. An ADC(Analog Digital Converter)(24) converts a voltage value corresponding to the reception strength outputted by the radio module(15) into a digital value. A DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(20) controls a gain of the receiver amplifier(26) by comparing the reception strength of the digital value with a previously stored noise generation reference strength.
